Welcome to the Sarah Bates School Of Swimming.

I am very pleased to welcome your child to this school. I have been established now for 15 years and also have 21 years experience.

As a parent and an advanced qualified swimming teacher, I realise the importance of getting all children to learn to swim, this is a very serious decision for you as a parent for your child to be in the hands of someone else. Please be assured that your child is in safe hands. Our policy as teachers is to teach the children to swim safely and to be aware of the dangers of water. All my teachers have been police checked with the local authorities, also are qualified with A.S.A/S.T.A, giving you peace of mind as a parent that your child is in the best possible hands.

I have been in many local newspapers for an article titled Water Babies which included children as young as 2 years old being able to swim in deep water safely and also achieved distance awards using the ASA guidelines.

Being on both the BBC 1 News and Central News for the above.

Being very well known in the Derby and Nottingham area for my Lessons.

Children who have attended my swim school over the years are now swimming for top competitive swim clubs.

My main aim for all children whether they are total beginners or improvers is that children can save themselves if ever they were in danger in the water, that is what we aim for first. After gaining confidence in shallow water they will then progress to deeper water, which we are able to do safely with only having three to four in a class and the teacher in the water emphasising water safety.

We then concentrate on your childs technique using a wide variety of the ASA Award Scheme.
